Sarah Smithers has always had that special "it" thing with dogs.  She started her own pet sitting business when she was 9 years old.  Who can resist a precocious 9-10 year old asking if you are going on vacation and do they need a pet sitter??  She has continued her pet sitting business as an adult as well as working for a local veterinarian as a vet assistant. 

Sarah raised and trained her very own Norwegian Elkhound puppy, "Cowboy".  Sarah showed Cowboy to his AKC Champion title as a junior and continued to show Cowboy as a special.  For a while, she worked for dog show handlers Robert Chaffin & Terri Galle, where she learned many lessons on handling of dogs in the dog show circuit.  Sarah continues to show Norwegian Elkhounds and she helps Libby Parmer-Smith show her RiverWind Norwegian Elkhounds.  

When you see your images, you will quickly learn that having Sarah assist on a photo session helps me look like a genius photographer.  She has a talent for knowing how to work with the dogs as well as tolerate her Mom giving her direction as the photographer.  She loves seeing the finished product of our work together and she knows she is an integral part of making beautiful images of dogs.
